Albena is a heroine from a famous Bulgarian novel, and her graceful
name suits perfectly this superb northern Black Sea beach
resort.
Albena
is awarded with the EU Blue Flag
The setting is excellent - between lush wooded hillsides and a magnificent clean sandy
beach. In fact, the beach is almost 7 km long and up to 100 metres
wide, sloping gently into the sea. You will find plenty of activities
going on, with daytime sports, evening entertainment, discos and
taverns, plus two bazaar-style shopping centres. Albena is excellent
for families with young children as the bathing is safe and there
is little or no traffic in the resort. The mini-trains, which run
round the resort all day, cost only a few pence to ride.
- Location: On the northern
Black Sea coast, not far from the Romanian border, about 40 km from
Varna Airport and a 3 minute drive from the villa. Alternatively Albena is a 25 minute walk along the scenic coastline
from the villa.
- Sports: Waterskiing, sailing, motor boats, pedaloes, parascending, microlites,
mini-golf, tennis including tennis coaching, badminton bowls. An
excellent riding school which caters for beginners and experienced
horse riders.
- Nights Out: There is an Array of restaurants and
bars within the resort catering for all tastes.
